Students interested in auditioning for the 2026 SDUSD Middle School Honor Band/Orchestra can now access the necessary information and materials. Please see the SDUSD VAPA Connections website for all details pertaining to this year’s honor groups. MMS students often have busy schedules outside of school hours, to be sure to check for scheduling conflicts with honor rehearsals and the honor performance!
Speaking of scheduling conflicts, our Pre-Festival Concerts were scheduled for February 26th (one of the honor rehearsal dates) long before the district honor group information was published with an honor rehearsal taking place that very same evening. You may go ahead and sign up to audition despite this particular conflict! How we resolve this conflict will depend on who from MMS makes the honor groups, and how many MMS students would be missing from the February 26th honor rehearsal if we proceeded with the concert as planned. This isn’t the first time an honor rehearsal has been scheduled on top of one of our Pre-Festival Concerts, so I am confident the honor managers and I can work together on a solution.
