Welcome back to another exciting year of music-making at MMS! To ensure that instrumental music families are fully prepared for the year ahead, I am hosting our annual parent/guardian informational meetings on Thursday, August 20, 2026 in the MMS Performing Arts Center. Since a quick presentation at Back To School Night doesn’t give us enough time to dive into important details like the operating budget, spring trips, promotion criteria, and student expectations, this dedicated evening will serve as a more thorough orientation.
The meeting for Beginning Band/Orchestra families will start at 6:00 PM. The meeting for Intermediate/Advanced Band/Orchestra families will start at 7:00 PM. Each meeting will last about an hour. We will also have a representative on site from Bertrand’s Music if you are interested in purchasing or renting an instrument for your student.
Students will be receiving a flyer for these meetings during classes on Thursday 8/13/26 and Friday 8/14/26 to share with you. I highly encourage at least one adult from each family to attend (students are welcome, too!), and I am looking forward to kicking off a fantastic musical year next Thursday night!
